Hilltop Farm, Kings Langley
Client: Marchfield
Three single storey dwellings to replace disused poultry sheds and outbuildings off Hilltop Road.
The dwellings had to be sited on the same footprints of the original sheds, and ridge heights had to be no higher, in order to satisfy planning requirements for building in Green Belt.
Site levels meant that one of the buildings had to be dug into the ground significantly but a later planning application to raise the ridge height avoided this and achieved a more sustainable solution.
Spacious living areas with vaulted ceilings, four large bedrooms and three bathrooms were achieved within building volumes which were the same as the original farm buildings.
Coloured 3D visualisations of the development and building interiors were produced for sales and marketing purposes while the buildings were being constructed.
